On April 10, 2011, I rode the Haleiwa Metric Century for the ninth or tenth time, but this year's ride was really special. It makes Hawai`i the first state in my plan to do a 50 km ride in all 50 states (plus D.C.) So this year I did the full 100 km route and it was pure joy. The pesky head wind on the way out meant a relaxing tail wind coming back. The fully supported ride was fun and comfortable thanks to the Hawai`i Bicycling League and their generous sponsors and all of the helpful volunteers.
