Oregon's Banks - Vernonia Trail is a Cyclist's Dream Ride

After a rainy Saturday night spent in a small RV park in Castle Rock, WA, we hit the road on Sunday morning bound for Oregon. First stop, Stuffy's 2 in Longview, WA for a humongous breakfast. Then over to Astoria to visit historic Ft. Clatsop, the winter home of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
Just can't help baby-tickling the little darlin'

On the way to Thad, Jessica and Jackson's house, we stopped off in Banks, OR to enjoy the Banks - Vernonia Trail. What a marvelous ride!  It's a dedicated multi-use paved 21 mile route, formerly a railroad section with gentle grades.  The day long rain stopped abruptly the moment we arrived at the trail head and we had perfect conditions - including delightful splashes of sunshine - along the route.
